He died in 1917 in Brazos County, Texas, and is buried in the Boonville Cemetery, Brazos County, Texas. According to his tombstone, he was a member of the Woodmen of the World.

186     James Albert CARSON was living in Port Arthur, Texas in January of 1942. This article was in the Bryan, Texas newspaper: "J. A. Carson of Port Arthur, Texas visited his uncle Curtis Abernathy Carson who lived at Union Hill. Curtis and his brother Tom Carson were the only children then living of their father, N. F. Carson, Sr. who owned the land on which A&M now stands." The article noted that Curtis and Tom were around 80 years old and "Tom is no longer able to see". The visitor J.A. Carson made violins and played them in theaters and over the radio. He died on 4 May, 1964 in Jefferson County, Texas. He was born on May 16, 1885 in Brazos County, Texas, and died on 4 May, 1964 in Port Arthur, Jefferson County, Texas. He was married to (367) Iola Lee (Clifton) CARSON. She was born on 28 July, 1890 in Brazos County, Texas, and died on 24 Aug., 1960 in Port Arthur. She was the daughter of George CLIFTON and Mary (Price) CLIFTON. Their children were:

354     Alvin Maurice BROWNLEE was born on 12 Aug., 1913, and died on 31 Oct., 1998. He died in Shumpert Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana and is buried in Prospect Cemetery in Florien, Louisiana. He was originally from Beaumont, Texas. He was married to (341) Juanita M. (Whittington) BROWNLEE on Aug, 12, 1937. She was born on 6 July, 1918 in Florien, Louisiana, a small village. She and Alvin lived there from 1937 until they both retired in 1980. They built a retirement home on some of Juanita's father's land, but after Maurice's death in 1998, Juanita could not cope with keeping the house and grounds alone. In 2004 Juanita moved to a retirement community, the Forum of the Woodlands, which is a large community with apartments and cottages for 330 people, and she loves living there (as of 2006). Juanita worked for the Beaumont Independent School District for 29 years, teaching 7th and 8th grade mathematics. She has a BA and MA from Lamar University. Their children are:

358     Ervin Charles BROWNLEE was married to (536) Mary Evelyn (Temple) BROWNLEE. He died in 1986 at his home in Texas City, Texas and is entombed in a Galveston Memorial Park Mausoleum in Hitchcock, Texas. He died of hemorrhaging from the colon. Their daughter was:

360     Alice Louella (Barnes) RICE was born on 5 Aug., 1905 in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas and died on 21 Oct., 1996 in Angelina County, Texas . She was married to (538)  John Thomas RICE on 29 Aug., 1923 in College Station, Brazos County, Texas. He died on 16 Feb., 1981 in Angelina County, Texas. It is not known if they had any children.

365     Ivy Bessie (Barnes) WILLIAMS was born on 14 July, 1916, and died on 3 Jan., 1978. She was married to (539) Ethridge Williams. It is not known if they had any children.

TENTH GENERATION

353     William "Billy" Nathan BROWNLEE died at age 18 in Beaumont, Texas when a tire on his car blew out. He was born on 13 August, 1922 and died on 4 Oct., 1940.  He is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont.

356 Frances Lynn (Brownlee) SOILEAU was born on 18 February, 1933 and married (2057) Walter James SOILEU Jr. on 8 Oct., 1950. He was born on 4 April, 1928. Their children were:

537     Charlyn Denice (Brownlee) LEWIS was born 26 July, 1953. She married (2044) John Hadley JONES on 26 July, 1974. She subsequently married (2045) Roland G. LEWIS. She had had two brain abscess, both caused from pulmonary AVMS. She is now (2008) married to (2329) Eugene Henry DUMM, Jr. They were married on 4 Nov., 2003.
